Pray for Jeff's Oral Ordination Exam

Since April 2020, Jeff has been serving as a Pastoral Resident at our church. Throughout the past few years, Jeff has been engaged in a process to become what he and, now we as a church, believe God has called him to be: a pastor at Sovereign Grace Church of Santa Ana.

The process has been long and difficult, but the Lord has given him grace along the way and proven him in his gifting. After multiple tests and papers, thousands of pages of books read, an internship and a residency, he’s taking the last step this Saturday.

HE’S TAKING HIS FINAL STEP

This Saturday, Jeff will be sitting before a panel of Sovereign Grace pastors and taking a rigorous 14-question oral exam. If he passes and the Regional Assembly of Elders approves his ordination, we’ll be officially ordaining him as a church within the next few months. First things first, though. Let’s pray for him as he prepare for this Saturday.:

  • Pray for peace and clarity for Jeff as he takes this final test.

  • Pray for Taylor and Otto as they come alongside Jeff to help him prepare and serve.

The Timeless Shock Absorbers of the Church

DEACONS - SERVANTS FOR GOD’S GLORY

Acts 6:1-7 describes a scenario that might even come off as your average, everyday messy scenario of a local church trying to mercifully meet tangible needs, but running into issues along the way. These are the kinds of things, though, that can derail a church - not to say that administration, mercy ministry and the like are unimportant. However, when pastors, who have been called by God to teach and shepherd the church make these everyday issues a priority over leading and teaching the church, problems can arise. So, how can a church ensure that these important needs are met? Through deacons. Literally translated, “one who serves” a deacon is a servant’ hearted individual who is called and qualified according to 1 Tim. 3:8-13 to serve the church and act as a shock absorber to the church and in particular, its pastors. Want to know more about deacons and what our plans are as a church to install our very first deacons?

OC Job Fair This Friday

This Friday the County of Orange is Hosting a Virtual Job Fair

In this time of Covid-19, we want to share as many helpful resources and tools with our community as possible. If you or someone you know is looking for job, encourage them to attend this job fair on Friday!

Thursday, October 15, 2020 | 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM

“A Virtual Job Fair is just like an in-person job fair, but online! Each participating company has its own virtual “booth” that you can access from the comforts of your home. Use this time to ask hiring managers questions about their open positions, their business culture, and what it’s like working for their company. Each participating company will also be giving short presentations throughout the fair.  The content for each presentation is the same, so make sure to check out each company’s room to learn more!”

Children's Ministry Update

Pandemic Children’s Ministry

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, our Children’s ministry has not been able to meet in person. This is hard for the parents. It’s hard for the kids. As church we have been doing our best to not only serve parents during this season but minister to the young ones in our congregation too.

Every week we release a Children’s ministry video lesson on our facebook page. These videos are based on our curriculum from the Gospel Project. We also provide a Parent resource for each unit with questions you can discuss as a family.

Since we resumed meeting in person, we have also been providing the kids with a note sheet and crayons at every service! We have a volunteer passing these out every Sunday so if you miss it, feel free to ask!

Our latest addition has been calling the kids to the front during our 3 minute break so the preacher can give them a challenge- something to listen for during service! After service kids are invited back up to discuss what they found with the preacher!

We hope this continues to serve you and your family. If you every have any questions or suggestions about Children’s Ministry, please let us know!

We're Renewed At The Ebell Club Through June 1, 2021

PRAISE GOD FOR HIS GRACE

We’ve been blessed in our relationship with the staff and board of the Ebell Club of Santa Ana since we began meting there in June 2020. By God’s grace, we’ve been renewed to continue meeting there on Sundays though June of next year. We’ve also reserved the space for our 2020 Christmas Eve service.

Until now, you’ve been tremendous stewards of our Sunday morning meeting space. You’re respectful, conscientious and careful. Let’s keep it up and continue being the best tenants possible in one of the best Sunday meeting spaces in our city.
