Register Today for the 2023 Spring Class

EVERY 2ND & 4TH MONDAY BEGINNING MARCH 12TH

As Christians we believe that God’s great goal in our redemption is to create a people “conformed to the image of his Son” (Rom 8:29). A people who look like, love like, and live like Jesus. A people who are being changed as they follow after Jesus Christ.

The amazing thing about this are the instruments God has chosen to complete this transforming work: us. He's chosen his people to be the means by which his people grow and change. But how is this accomplished? Our Spring Class exists to answer this question.

Register today to learn what true discipleship looks like and become equipped in encouraging, caring for, and applying the life-changing gospel to every aspect of each other's lives. During our time together, we’ll use the book How People Change by Timothy Lane & Paul Tripp to help us along the way. Each participant is required to purchase the book. Scholarships are available upon request.

How Can Anyone be Saved?

BY COMING TO GOD WITH THE EMPTY HANDS OF A CHILD

The march toward the cross continues on and along the way, through the living illustrations of children and a rich young ruler, Jesus makes it clear how we can enter the kingdom of God. The answer, in short? It’s impossible. That is, it’s impossible with man. Listen to last Sunday’s sermon to learn more about what the Bible teaches about how anyone can be saved.

2 Ways to be Equipped for Mission this March

OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL AND GLOBAL MISSIONS

This March, there are 2 opportunities to become better equipped to spread the joy of Jesus both near and far:

  1. Equipping to Reach our City - On Saturday March 11th, we’re partnering with Evangelism Explosion through their ministry Equip America and local churches throughout Santa Ana to spread the gospel in our city. We’ll spend the day learning a simple and effective way to share our faith, and then we’ll have the opportunity to go into the community to share the gospel with our neighbors. To learn more about this exciting opportunity and to sign up, visit the registration page here.

  2. Equipping for Global Ministry - After church on March 19th, join us at Hidden House Coffee for a Rancho 3M Short-Term Missions Trip Interest Meeting. Our goal is to take a team of 6-8 people to Juarez, Mexico from October 8 - 15, to assist with a service project and bless the orphanage there. Join us to learn more about what to expect and how you can prepare to participate.

SMALL GROUPS ARE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP

Outside of Sunday mornings, small groups are the most important moment in the life of our church. Save the Date for Picnic in the Park- 2/26

HAVE LUNCH WITH OUR FRENCH PARK NEIGHBORS

We like to gather every other month or so for a casual picnic in French Park. We eat lunch together, play games, and enjoy one another’s company. This month we’re making it a priority to invite our French Park Neighbors to join us! Send a text, knock on a door, or reconnect with someone you’ve met through our neighborhood initiatives and extend the invite. Make sure you remind them to bring a lunch as well!

join us after church on 2/26

Let’s take the joy of Jesus to neighbors. After service, head over to French Park to spend time together in the middle of the neighborhood God has placed us in. Here are the details:

  • It’s “BYOL” (bring your own lunch). If you forget your lunch or your favorite lunchbox isn’t clean, there are plenty of great restaurants nearby in DTSA.

  • Bring some folding chairs - unless you like sitting on the grass, bring something to sit on.

  • Expect the Lord to build existing relationships and create new ones with our neighbors.

Cross-Shaped Marriage

MARRIAGE TELLS THE STORY OF THE GOSPEL

On the heels of teaching humility, we journey with Jesus into an arena in which humility is much required: marriage. Jesus arrives in Judea and is thrown a controversial question by the Pharisees: "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?" (10:2). Jesus answers the question about whether it is permissible to break a marriage covenant by expanding the conversation to hold out God's good and wise design in the marriage covenant. A design that goes all the way back to the beginning (Gen 1-2). A design that points to the great end for which God created the world: that his Son would have a bride. In the Old Covenant, God made an exception for man’s hardness of heart. Under the New Covenant, God’s highest intention for marriage is fulfilled in Christ’s unbreakable union with the Church (Eph 5:22-32). A union made possible by the cross - so that we could rightly say the true meaning of marriage is shaped by the cross. In the cross-shaped marriage, Jesus' marriage becomes the model and motivation for our own. His sacrificial love softens the hardness of our hearts toward our spouses. His undying faithfulness spurs on those tempted toward unfaithfulness.

If after listening to last Sunday’s sermon, you’d like to spend more time studying the topic of marriage, divorce and remarriage in the Bible, here are some suggested resources for you:
