Join us for a Journey of Generosity

SEPTEMBER 26 & SEPTEMBER 27

Next week, we're hosting a Journey of Generosity (JOG) retreat. It's a Friday - Saturday retreat led by our own Daniel Lee that's all about the joy that comes through generous living. We'll watch video stories, engage in personal Bible study, have focused solitude time before the Lord, and participate in authentic conversations with our friends. And at the end of it there won't be any financial ask of any kind!

Here are the details:

  • When: Friday, Sept 26 - Saturday, Sept 27.

    • 9/26 - 7pm-9pm with coffee and refreshments.

    • 9/27 - 9am-3pm with coffee, refreshments, and lunch.

  • Where: the Lee home.

  • The event is entirely free.

  • No childcare will be provided.

Your pastors got to attend one of these retreats earlier this year and we can't overstate the impact it made on us. We're jealous for you to have this experience as well. We believe the ceiling for joy in generosity is much higher than we've come to expect.

If you want to raise that ceiling, become a more grateful person, and believe even harder that “It’s more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35), then this journey is for you! Space is limited, RSVP today!

You can learn more about the JOG here.

Reach out to Pastor Jeff to RSVP or ask any questions

Festival of Nations is This Sunday

THE BEST POTLUCK IN THE WORLD

It’s time for one of our favorite events of the year! This Sunday, 9/14, we’re celebrating our unity in the midst of our diversity by pulling together the best potluck in the world! We’ll enjoy dishes that represent our different cultures, heritages, and nationalities and rejoice that we’ve all been brought into one new family in Christ.

HOW CAN YOU PREPARE?

  1. Bring a dish (main, dessert, or side) representing your culture, upbringing, or national heritage. Bring your best effort. The results will be judged and the “Best In The World” award will be given to the individual whose dish impressed the most. Multiple dishes per family are ok! Kids are welcome to join in the competition as well!

  2. Join us at 4pm on Sunday, September 14th in the Schlieder backyard. Contact us here for location details.

The Bridge Course Starts On Monday

A CLASS BY OUR CHURCH FOR OUR NEIGHBORS

Each fall we host The Bridge Course. A 10-week opportunity to explore the Christian faith, wrestle with the big questions of life, and build relationships with our neighbors. Each week begins with a meal followed by a talk that addresses common questions about life and God. Afterward there is a small-group conversation where participants can share what they believe, ask any questions they have, or just sit back and listen. No one will be called upon, pressured to talk, or forced to believe anything. Click here to learn more about how it works.

Why Bridge?

Because the course creates a context for us to bless and befriend our neighbors, show them the joy we have in Jesus, and invite them to receive it for themselves. How great is that! Our goal is that each of us would invite at least one neighbor, family member, co-worker, or friend who is not yet a Christian, not sure what they believe, or is new to the faith and looking to learn more to join in. Who will you bring to Bridge? Start thinking and praying of who this will be and send them the registration link below.

Who Will You Bring to Bridge?

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS TO EXPLORE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH

Our mission is to spread the joy of Jesus to our Santa Ana neighbors. One of the ways we advance this mission is through The Bridge Course. A class we offer each fall that creates a context for our neighbors who are skeptical, seeking, unsure of what they believe, or are brand new to the Christian faith to have honest conversations about the most important questions in life. Over the course of 10 weeks, we’ll share meals, build relationships, and learn how the Bible answers those big questions.

Know someone who is looking for answers? Isn’t sure what they believe? Has doubts about Christianity or is investigating the faith? Bring them to Bridge! The course is entirely free. No homework or preparation needed. And your guests will never be pressured to participate more than they’re comfortable. It’s a safe place to explore the Christian faith and enjoy community along the way.

When and where does it take place?

  • Dates: Mondays from September 8, 2025 - November 10, 2025

  • Time: 7pm-9pm

  • Location: Hopper & Burr, 202 W 4th St, Santa Ana, CA 92701

Bridge is starting soon! So don’t wait, invite your friends & neighbors today!

It’s Time to Party

THIS SATURDAY AT 4PM

The French Park Block Party is finally here! It’s our biggest event of the year. An afternoon of summer fun filled with tacos, games, and enjoying our Santa Ana community to the glory of God. All of it is designed to show our neighbors how glad we to be their neighbors. To provide us with an opportunity to bless them and become friends with them. And, above all else, to reflect the joy we have in Jesus in the hopes that they’d receive as their own.

Make this the most important thing on your calendar this Saturday. Sign up to volunteer if you haven’t yet. Post the invite to your social media accounts. Invite other Santa Ana neighbors. Above all, pray that God would spread the joy of his Son through us this weekend. You can find the digital flyer here and the sign up sheet here.
