OC Job Fair This Friday

This Friday the County of Orange is Hosting a Virtual Job Fair

In this time of Covid-19, we want to share as many helpful resources and tools with our community as possible. If you or someone you know is looking for job, encourage them to attend this job fair on Friday!

Thursday, October 15, 2020 | 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM

“A Virtual Job Fair is just like an in-person job fair, but online! Each participating company has its own virtual “booth” that you can access from the comforts of your home. Use this time to ask hiring managers questions about their open positions, their business culture, and what it’s like working for their company. Each participating company will also be giving short presentations throughout the fair.  The content for each presentation is the same, so make sure to check out each company’s room to learn more!”

Children's Ministry Update

Pandemic Children’s Ministry

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began in March 2020, our Children’s ministry has not been able to meet in person. This is hard for the parents. It’s hard for the kids. As church we have been doing our best to not only serve parents during this season but minister to the young ones in our congregation too.

Every week we release a Children’s ministry video lesson on our facebook page. These videos are based on our curriculum from the Gospel Project. We also provide a Parent resource for each unit with questions you can discuss as a family.

Since we resumed meeting in person, we have also been providing the kids with a note sheet and crayons at every service! We have a volunteer passing these out every Sunday so if you miss it, feel free to ask!

Our latest addition has been calling the kids to the front during our 3 minute break so the preacher can give them a challenge- something to listen for during service! After service kids are invited back up to discuss what they found with the preacher!

We hope this continues to serve you and your family. If you every have any questions or suggestions about Children’s Ministry, please let us know!

We're Renewed At The Ebell Club Through June 1, 2021

PRAISE GOD FOR HIS GRACE

We’ve been blessed in our relationship with the staff and board of the Ebell Club of Santa Ana since we began meting there in June 2020. By God’s grace, we’ve been renewed to continue meeting there on Sundays though June of next year. We’ve also reserved the space for our 2020 Christmas Eve service.

Until now, you’ve been tremendous stewards of our Sunday morning meeting space. You’re respectful, conscientious and careful. Let’s keep it up and continue being the best tenants possible in one of the best Sunday meeting spaces in our city.

God's Sovereignty - The Church's Timeless Confidence

GOD’S RIGHT AND POWER TO DO HIS WILL

In Acts 5:17-42, Peter and the Apostles are arrested for preaching the name of Jesus for the second time in two chapters. Yet, this time, before they can stand trial before the council, God miraculously intervenes through an angel and busts them out of prison. Yet, the next day, after being found in the Temple preaching once again, they are indeed brought before the council and consequently severely beaten to ensure they stay quiet. As they limp away from the Temple grounds, Luke records that they “rejoice that they were counted worthy to suffer …” Might they have been tempted to be confused at what God was up to in releasing them from prison only to be beaten? Yes. What, then, gave them such a strong confidence and joy no matter what befell them? The same thing that stands as Church’s timeless confidence and your own unshakeable confidence - God’s sovereignty.

Listen to this week’s sermon here.

Pray for Your Friends & Neighbors

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

Keep sending us your prayer requests. We’ll keep sharing them (anonymously) and share other suggestions for how you can be praying during the week. It’s important to know how to pray for one another and to ask the Lord to guide us, sustain us and encourage us each individually in this season.

  1. Pray for the upcoming election - that we would trust in our victorious Christ no matter the outcome and that God would implant whomever is elected both nationally and locally with wisdom

  2. Pray for those in the church experiencing suffering and trials

  3. Pray for God to save Santa Anans through our church’s ministry toward them

  4. Pray that God would conform us to the timeless traits of the historic church

  5. Pray for our Starting Point class this Sunday

  6. Pray for the requests of individuals who have shared them on our church Slack prayer channel. If you have questions about how to be added to this, email office@sovgracesantaana.org

KEEP SENDING PRAYER REQUESTS TO PRAYERS@SOVGRACESANTAANA.ORG.
