This past Sunday, two Sovereign Grace churches in Orange County gathered together in two different cities at 5:00pm to share the Lord's Table together. It was a significant moment reminding us of the source of our life as Christians and the basis of our life together as a church. Take a look at Sovereign Grace Santa Ana's first Communion Service.
4th Street Market @ 7:00pm
If you're a man and you're high school-age or older, come join in on the discussion. We need God's Word. We need one another. We'll find encouragement through both this Thursday night.
You Cannot Know Yourself Truly Apart From Who You Are In Relation TO God
In the middle of a brief break from the book of Colossians, we opened up our Bibles together to Psalm 139. We encountered a psalmist, David himself, who asked God to search him, knowing full well what God would find wickedness. Find out how and why David would make such a request of God and how he could even have the audacious hope to, as a result, be "led in the way everlasting".

To further help Christians know what they believe, why they believe it, how to live it, and how to share it, in May 2013 we made the ebook editions of R.C.Sproul’s Crucial Questions series free forever. We continue to publish new ebooks in this series and this year have added How Can I Be Right with God?, What Do Jesus’ Parables Mean?, and What Can We Know about God?.
A Unique And Special Moment In The Life Of The Church
This upcoming Sunday, we’ll be sharing a meal together during our first annual communion service. Communion is a sacrament that we share together on a regular basis as a church family. We do it more often than not on Sundays. But this year, on the same day as our clocks spring forward (the dreaded day when we lose an hour of sleep), we’ll have an entire service devoted to sharing in the Lord’s Table together.
The service is a demonstration of who we are as a church family. It's a visible reminder of why and by whom we exist.
FAQ's
Will there be childcare?
Not this Sunday. Family-style means everybody will be together the entire time. Kids will get antsy and that's ok. Don't feel bad about getting up and down from your seat with your children.
I am not sure if I/my children should participate in the Lord's Supper. What should I do?
Anyone who has placed their trust in Christ is invited to join us. Please read our statement on communion for more information. We welcome you to contact one of our pastors if you would like to discuss further.
Is there anything I can do to help?
If you'd like to pitch in, email Kelsey Houlton at kelseyraeann@gmail.com.
We Have Many Reasons To Celebrate
This past Sunday, we celebrated our partnership with Sovereign Grace Church of Orange, the sending church of Sovereign Grace Santa Ana.
We celebrated our global partnership with Sovereign Grace Churches, as a visiting preacher from Sydney, Australia joined us for the evening.
We celebrated God's grace through the Gospel of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
And what better way to celebrate ... than with tacos? Many thanks to Tacos El Campesino for providing the best tacos on a Sunday evening in DTSA.
A Sunday in Santa Ana With a Man From The Other Side of the Globe, Being Trained on the Other Side of the Country
This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of hearing God's Word preached from Riley Spring. Riley and his wife both hail from Sydney, Australia. But they currently find their home in Louisville, Kentucky. Their home church and a church dear to us, Sovereign Grace Sydney, has sent Riley to be trained and equipped for pastoral ministry at the Sovereign Grace Pastor's College. His time there has clearly been effective; he served us well as he reminded us from Isaiah 40 of the God who is both mighty and merciful in the midst of our suffering.
Please pray for Riley as he finishes up his year at the Pastors College. Riley also hopes and aspires to be used by God to do something that we can really get behind: to plant another Gospel-proclaiming church. Pray also that God would give Riley and his wife clear direction, guidance and courage as they get closer and closer to planting a church in Parramatta, Australia.
March 2, 2018
This year, we'll be spending the first Friday of every month fasting together. Church members who fast for all 12 Fridays will be invited to a year-end party to celebrate the answers to our prayers. If fasting is new to you, here are some instructions.
Like last month, we'll break our fast with a meal together at 6:00pm before our regular small group meeting at the Houlton home. Contact kyle@sovgraceoc.org for directions and more information.
Free Tacos For All At 6:30pm
Come join us immediately after the service this upcoming Sunday, February 25 right out front of Heninger Elementary for a celebration ... simply because we have so much to celebrate. Our brothers and sisters from Sovereign Grace Church of Orange will be joining us. Invite your DTSA neighbors to join us.
It will probably be chilly, so bring a jacket or a blanket and look forward to some good food with good friends.
