This week, 4 groups will meet throughout our city to share in the joy of Jesus and apply his gospel to each other’s lives. Outside of Sunday mornings, small groups are the most important hours we spend together. Why? Because they are intentional moments of helping each other follow Jesus. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive God’s grace through your brothers and sisters.
Next Friday - Saturday, we’re hosting a retreat that’s all about living generous lives as we follow Jesus. We'll watch video stories, engage in personal Bible study, have a time of quiet reflection before the Lord, and participate in authentic conversations with our friends.

5/15 - 7pm-9pm with coffee and refreshments.
5/16 - 9am-3pm with coffee, refreshments, and lunch.
Where: the Lee home
The event is entirely free.
No childcare will be provided.

Prayer is central to our mission of spreading the joy of Jesus in our city. On 5/7, we have the privilege of partnering with pastors and community leaders in Santa Ana to seek God’s glory and our neighbor’s good through prayer. Share the flyer with a friend and stop by Templo Calvario on your lunch break as we gather together with fellow believers.
Even if you can’t make it in-person, tune in on the livestream, or simply pray wherever you are on Thursday afternoon. Here are some categories to bring before the Lord.
Pray:
For reformation and renewal in our hearts & church.
For revival in our city.
For our elected officials at the city, state, and national levels to govern with God’s wisdom according to God’s justice in order to promote what God says is good (1 Tim 2:1-2). Asking God to work in and through them to make for peace and righteousness in our land.
For our unbelieving neighbors in DTSA & French Park to come to saving faith in Christ.
For the churches in our city to be empowered by the Spirit to live together in unity, proclaim the gospel with clarity, and bear much fruit.
For the marriages, families, youth, and students of our city.
For those in need, struggling to make ends meet, searching for employment, experiencing loneliness and aching to belong somewhere, struggling with addiction, and suffering in various ways within our city.
Luke 7:36-50 is the story of a dinner party thrown by a lazy host that gets interrupted by an uninvited guest. One man and one woman who respond to the presence of Jesus in two very different ways. One is a religious leader who gives him a lackluster welcome. The other a sinful woman of the city who offers him extravagant honor. Two people in the presence of the same Jesus who couldn't respond more differently. Why is this? One realizes the greatness of their sin while the other does not. And when we come to terms with the depths of the debt we’re in, we truly grasp the greatness of God’s grace. When we recognize that Jesus has forgiven us of everything we've done, we can’t help but love him with everything we are.
Join us this Saturday (5/2), as we pray in the heart of French Park. We’ll go to God with the needs of our church, seek the good of our neighbors, and ask him to bring revival in our city. Make these meetings part of your regular rhythm on the first Saturday of each month. Kids are welcome. Invite your friends.
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, in Santa Ana as it is in heaven” (Mt 6:9-10)
Due to the month of May beginning on a Friday, all small groups will have their first meeting of the month next week (on 5/7 & 5/8). Which means you’ve got a free Thursday & Friday this week! Use it as an opportunity to spend time with your neighbors, invite someone over for dinner, or text a few people and head to Downtown Santa Ana. We encourage you to get together with each other and enjoy God’s good gifts!
After taking our joy in Jesus on the road, this Sunday we’re back at the Ebell Club! We’ll kick off the month of May by meeting in the beautiful outdoor Courtyard.
Here are a few things to note as you prepare for Sunday:
Children’s Ministry: We’ll have one children’s class for ages 0-5. All kids 6 and up will remain in the service after we sing. Coloring sheets will be provided to help them stay engaged.
What to Bring: We’ll have plenty of seats and water, but you’re welcome to bring your sunglasses or anything else you need to be comfortable outdoors.
