Communion Service is Here

SUNDAY, 3/10 AT 5PM

Each year on Daylight Savings Sunday, we hold a service centered around the Lord’s Supper. This Sunday, instead of meeting in the morning, we’ll gather for a meal at 5:00pm. We’ll enjoy a special time of tasting and seeing that the Lord is good as we celebrate Communion over the course of a full meal. Just as the food will nourish our bodies, the Supper will nourish our souls. We’ll sing, laugh, talk, and feast to the glory of the Savior who gave his own body and blood to give us a seat at his table.

ALL ARE WELCOME

This is a family dinner so our kids will join us for the meal. No Children’s Ministry classes will be offered this Sunday. In addition, you’re welcome to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to see, hear, touch, and even, taste the gospel in a special way as well. All are welcome to enjoy dinner with us. All who have professed faith in Christ and been baptized are welcome to receive the bread and cup with us - whether members, kids, or guests.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PREPARE

Not only will we share in the eating of a meal. We’ll share in the preparation of the meal. This is an event that requires all hands on deck. Whether you’re a household of 1, 2, 3, 4 or more - sign up to contribute to this celebration of the grace of God in Christ.

The Story & Strategies of Spiritual War

KNOW THE ENEMY. KNOW CHRIST’S VICTORY.

In his classic work, Chinese General, Sun Tzu famously wrote, "If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." As we learned back in Ephesians 6:10-20, there is a real spiritual battle being raged all around us. A real enemy of our souls and a whole host of dark forces that are opposed to the progress of our mission and our pursuit of maturity, unity, and joy in Christ together. But taking a page out of Sun Tzu's book, if we know the enemy of our souls and are wise to his schemes, and we know ourselves - that we are safe and secure with the victorious Christ, we need not fear the result of a lifelong - history spanning, bigger than us, war of the seen and unseen worlds - battle of spiritual war. Revelation 12:1-17 is given to us so that we would more clearly understand the story of spiritual war - who our enemy is - and the strategies of spiritual war - what he does to oppose us - so that we'd more urgently, intentionally, and expectantly respond by taking refuge in Christ, placing his armor over the weak spots where we're most vulnerable, and marching on in the confidence of his victory.

Don’t Miss out on Small Groups

EVERY 1ST & 3RD FRIDAY OF THE MONTH AT 7PM

This Friday, 3/1, three different groups will meet throughout our city to share in the joy of Jesus, care for one another, and apply the gospel to each other’s lives. Outside of Sunday mornings, small groups are the most important moments in the life of our church. Make it a priority to attend one this Friday, for the first time or the 50th time. You’ll be glad you did!

Sunday Teams Training Day

SERVICE LEAD, SETUP, AND USHER TEAM MEET AT 9:00AM THIS SUNDAY

Our Savior served us by giving his life as a ransom for many. Our church is full of men and women who serve us by giving their time, energy, and selves away. To all those serving so faithfully, sacrificially, and especially, joyfully at Cross of Grace, “Thank you!” We’re grateful for all you do to help us enjoy our gatherings on Sunday mornings. We're also grateful for how our Sunday Teams have grown to include more and more new members!

In order to continue striving toward “undistracting excellence” in the execution of our worship services, make sure everyone on this team is on the same page with all procedures, and train new team members on necessary skills, we’re having a training day.

Whether you’ve been actively serving on the Service Lead, Setup, or Usher Teams or if you’ve just recently joined, please plan on arriving at church at 9:00am this Sunday, March 3rd! Pastor Jason will lead through a time of equipping and encouraging our Sunday Teams.

Where Marriage is Headed

AND OUR JOY ALONG THE WAY

The Bible teaches that marriage is a good gift of God. But if we’re honest, marriage can often seem like an obstacle to our joy instead of an opportunity for our joy. We’re prone to settle for less than God has for us and believe the lie that the best we can do is “Make it work,” and just try to “get by.” Revelation 19:1-10 is given to us to raise our low expectations and convince us that the joy ceiling for our marriages should be set according to the heights of joy we're headed toward. The perfect union between Christ and his bride to which our marriages point. Our spouses are our closest traveling companions as we move toward that Great Day. It’s God’s desire we’d enjoy life with them all along the way. Listen to the sermon to learn more about how we can do this.

Pray for the Pastoral Team Retreat

THIS SATURDAY

This Saturday, Pastors Jeff, Kyle, and Jason will be spending 10 hours prayerfully planning for the future ministry of Cross of Grace Church of Santa Ana. Caring for and encouraging one another. Asking “what’s next?” for the various ministries of the church. Engaging in theological dialogue. Praying for our church and city. Trusting God with the future of our mission and asking him to continue working in us in order to make us the next 100 year church in Santa Ana. There’s much to discuss and they need your support and participation. How? By joining them in prayer and asking God to meet them in the following ways:

  1. Pray that the Lord would keep the team’s eyes firmly fixed on Jesus and that all plans, preparations, and discussions would be to the glory of our Savior.

  2. Pray that the Lord would keep our Santa Ana neighbors clearly in mind as we plan for future ministry.

  3. Pray that what is discussed and decided would result in the fruit of the Spirit among us and the fruit of salvation in our neighbors.

  4. Pray for unity and peace in all discussions, whether there’s agreement or disagreement.

Our Communion Service is Weeks Away

MARCH 10TH AT 5PM

Daylight Savings Sunday is coming and that means our annual all-church Communion Dinner is right around the corner. On 3/10, our Sunday morning service will be replaced with a special evening service beginning at 5:00pm. This is a dinner that represents the life we share. We will eat and drink together and nourish our bodies just as the Lord’s Supper nourishes our souls. We’ll feast to the glory of the Savior who gave his own body and blood in order to give us a seat his table. You can look at last year’s photos here.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PREPARE
