Baptisms This Sunday

IMMEDIATELY AFTER SERVICE AT THE LEE HOME

Join us at the Lee home after church this Sunday, 6/14 to celebrate the baptism of new believers and have a hotdog lunch.

If you are interested in being baptized, have questions about baptism, or want to place your faith in Jesus, talk to a member of the pastoral team. They’d be happy to help you take the first step of the Christian life.

Summer Children's Ministry Classes

ONLY 2 CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED

We’re shifting to 2 Sunday morning classes over the summer. This will help match our current volunteer availability and prevent from over-scheduling anyone. Through the end of August, we’ll have:

  1. Nursery/Kindergarten Class: Newborns - 5 years old. Meeting in the larger Fireside Room at the furthest end of the courtyard.

  2. Elementary Class: 6-12 years old, 1st - 6th grade. Meeting in the smaller Dinette Room located off the courtyard walkway.

We appreciate all of our volunteers who make our weekly children’s ministry gatherings happen. But as we head into the fall, it’ll take some new hands on deck to set up all 3 classes to serve our kids each week. If you don’t already, consider serving in our Preschool, Lower, or Upper Elementary Classes. Please reach out to us here if you are interested.

Roenicke Kenya Update

JOIN US IN PRAYER FOR THE ROENICKES

Pastor Jason went on an exploratory trip to Nairobi, Kenya from Apr 29 - May 8. He spent time with the pastors and people of our sister church, Sovereign Grace Church Nairobi, he explored the city, and got a feel for what life is like there. The trip was very informative and an important step in discerning a potential call.

Here’s where things are right now:

  • A very clear picture on what life could be like, where they could live, and other details like that has been obtained.

  • Kenya “checks all the boxes” of the kind of place the Roenickes desire to be.

  • The church there feels like home.

  • There are many opportunities for ministry in and beyond the local church.

Here’s what’s next:

  • Jason & Kayleigh continue to have strategic debriefing conversations.

  • Jason is seeking greater clarity on just what local church & missionary ministry would look like.

  • The Roenickes are asking the Lord to confirm a “yes” or “no,” by the end of the month.

  • Join them in prayer, ask for an open door for ministry, and a unity in their family to walk through it - or not - to the glory of God.

We don’t yet know when or how things will work out, but we’re humbled by the opportunity our little church has to spread the immense and glorious joy of Jesus across the earth. Would he fill us with wisdom as we take this step together!

Graduation Sunday Recap

ELEMENTARY GRADUATE

This Sunday, we recognized and prayed over Nehemiah De La Cruz who is transitioning from one chapter of life and learning to the next. Moving up to new grade levels and new participation in our CGSA Youth Group. We’re grateful for God’s grace in his life and excited to see how he works in and through him in this next season.

God has blessed our church with the gift of many children! Would he empower our parents to raise them up, position his church to come alongside, and prepare the next generation of men and women who will carry on our mission.

LET’S SING THE SONG OF PSALM 145

It’s our ambition that Cross of Grace Church would be a church that sings the song of Ps 145. Because, if we’re going to be the next 100-year church in Santa Ana, “one generation” will need to “commend the mighty works of God to another” - again and again (Ps 145:4-7)! Would each of us must remain committed to seeing the faith once for all delivered pass on from one generation to the next. Trusting God to work through his people to keep a people worshiping here in DTSA for years and years to come!

The 5th Commandment

HONOR YOUR FATHER & MOTHER

The 5th Commandment kicks off what's been called the Second Table of the Law. The first 4 commandments lay out what it means to love God with everything we've got. The remaining 6 teach us what it looks like to love our neighbor as ourselves. As we move into what God has to say about loving our neighbors, we consider the very first neighbors we ever have in life: our parents. Parents are God’s first and foremost representatives in our lives. Humanly speaking, we owe everything to them. They give us all we have. They teach us how to live in this world. They shape us like no one else can. Because of this, we should honor them for all their lives - and all our lives too. Not because they're perfect, but because our Father in heaven is perfect and he's attached his blessing honoring the God-appointed authorities in our lives.

Help Us Throw the French Park Block Party

SATURDAY, JUNE 27 @ 4:00PM

For the fifth year in a row, we’re bringing an afternoon of food, fun, and community to the French Park neighborhood! We’re throwing a party to bless our neighbors, build relationships with them, and be a compelling witness to the joy that’s found in Jesus.

But to do this, we need your help! This is our biggest event of the year and we’ll need all hands on deck to make it happen. There are many ways you can contribute to the celebration: pre-party neighborhood outreach & promotion, event set-up & clean-up, serving food, facilitating games, bringing key supplies, and more! Sign up below and contact us here with any questions.

One important way everyone can pitch in is by sharing the digital flyer with your friends and praying that the Lord uses this event to draw our neighbors closer to himself.

Small Groups

THURSDAY & FRIDAY NIGHT

This week, 4 groups will meet throughout our city to share in the joy of Jesus and apply his gospel to each other’s lives. Outside of Sunday mornings, small groups are the most important hours we spend together. They are intentional moments for us to stop what we’re doing, share what’s happening in our hearts, and rest in the finished work of Jesus. Don’t miss this opportunity to receive God’s grace through your brothers and sisters.
