The Foundation of Our Life Together

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

This past Sunday, we began a sermon series on church membership. 5 weeks of asking and answering the questions: “What makes us who we are?” and “What’s it like to be us?” The most important thing that shapes who we are is what we believe. The heart of what we believe is the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the foundation of our life together in the household of God that is Cross of Grace Church.

All are welcome to this special Sunday service. Help us spread the word by:

  1. Grabbing flyers on the Welcome Table this Sunday to pass them around your neighborhood or office.

  2. Sharing the digital flyer located here with your friends, family, neighbors, and on social media.

We can’t wait to celebrate!

Picnic in the Park This Sunday

LUNCH TOGETHER IN THE CENTER OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Picnic in the Park is back! After service this Sunday, head over to French Park to share a meal together, take the joy we have in Jesus on the road, and invite our neighbors to join in. Come ready to have lunch, play games, and enjoy time as friends. Here are the details:

  • It’s “BYOL” (bring your own lunch). Make a PB&J, grab some tacos, or pick something up in DTSA. We’ll have some pizza to share as well!

  • Bring a something to sit on - unless you like sitting on the grass, bring a folding chair or blanket.

Earnestly Desire the Spiritual Gifts

GIFTS TO EACH FOR THE GOOD OF ALL

Pursuing the gifts of the Spirit is not optional to us. We need them to become all that Christ wants us to be. But far too often, our desires for them are not too strong but too weak. This is why God gives us 1 Cor 12:1-11. A passage meant to move us, change us, and stir our hearts to earnestly desire all the grace he has to give. Listen to Sunday’s sermon to be energized in your pursuit of the spiritual gifts.

New Song This Sunday

Sing BY SOVEREIGN GRACE MUSIC

When we catch a glimpse of who God is and take in the wonders of what he’s done, there are few responses more fitting than singing. This Sunday, we’re introducing a new song that will stir us up to do just that. Take a few minutes to listen to “Sing” and read through the lyrics as you prepare your heart to worship.

VERSE 1
Did you draw a breath as the dawn awoke
And does your heart still beat?
Is the mighty Word of the living God
Upholding you? Then sing, O sing

VERSE 2
Has the Father’s love filled your longing heart
With grace for every need?
Come and lay your burdens at Jesus’ feet
And find new strength to sing, O sing

CHORUS
Morning and evening! Everything breathing
Must sing, O sing!
All of creation rise up and praise
The King of kings and sing!

VERSE 3
Has the Son of God died to take away
Your sin and set you free?
Has the Conqueror trampled over death?
Is Christ enthroned? Then sing O sing!

VERSE 4
On the final day when the Lord on High
Returns in majesty
We will bow in wonder before the Lamb
And evermore the saints will sing
Yes, evermore the saints will sing!
