LUNCH TOGETHER IN THE CENTER OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Picnic in the Park is back! After service on 3/24, head over to French Park to share a meal together, take the joy we have in Jesus on the road, and invite our neighbors to join in. Come ready to have lunch, play games, and enjoy time as friends. Here are the details:

  • It’s “BYOL” (bring your own lunch). Make a PB&J, grab some tacos, or pick something up in DTSA. We’ll have some pizza to share as well!

  • Bring a something to sit on - unless you like sitting on the grass, bring a folding chair or blanket.

Partaking in the Peace of Christ

LOOKING BACKWARD & LOOKING FORWARD

In Communion, past, present, and future collide. It’s true, Communion is our present sharing in the peace created through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Peace with God. Peace with each other. Peace in an embattled world. Freshly experienced as the Spirit works through the Supper to bring us into the presence of Christ. But, as we enjoy this moment, we’re meant to look backward to that moment when peace was established, and forward to that moment when peace will be perfected. As often as we eat the bread and drink the cup, the Lord of the Table anchors our hearts in the reality of what he accomplished all those years ago, and increases our anticipation of the joys that await us for days without end.

Men's Meeting is Tonight

ALL GUYS 15 AND OLDER ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Every month, the men of our church gather together to sit under God’s word and spur on each other’s walk with Christ. All guys, 15 years and older, are invited to participate in a conversation where "men talk like men" about God. And tonight as they talk, they’ll discuss spiritual warfare and how we can battle back against the schemes and strategies of the enemy and stand in Christ’s victory. Join in at our new location: Hopper & Burr (202 W 4th St, Santa Ana, 92701) at 7:00 pm.

Communion Service is Here

SUNDAY, 3/10 AT 5PM

Each year on Daylight Savings Sunday, we hold a service centered around the Lord’s Supper. This Sunday, instead of meeting in the morning, we’ll gather for a meal at 5:00pm. We’ll enjoy a special time of tasting and seeing that the Lord is good as we celebrate Communion over the course of a full meal. Just as the food will nourish our bodies, the Supper will nourish our souls. We’ll sing, laugh, talk, and feast to the glory of the Savior who gave his own body and blood to give us a seat at his table.

ALL ARE WELCOME

This is a family dinner so our kids will join us for the meal. No Children’s Ministry classes will be offered this Sunday. In addition, you’re welcome to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to see, hear, touch, and even, taste the gospel in a special way as well. All are welcome to enjoy dinner with us. All who have professed faith in Christ and been baptized are welcome to receive the bread and cup with us - whether members, kids, or guests.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PREPARE

Not only will we share in the eating of a meal. We’ll share in the preparation of the meal. This is an event that requires all hands on deck. Whether you’re a household of 1, 2, 3, 4 or more - sign up to contribute to this celebration of the grace of God in Christ.

The Story & Strategies of Spiritual War

KNOW THE ENEMY. KNOW CHRIST’S VICTORY.

In his classic work, Chinese General, Sun Tzu famously wrote, "If you know your enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." As we learned back in Ephesians 6:10-20, there is a real spiritual battle being raged all around us. A real enemy of our souls and a whole host of dark forces that are opposed to the progress of our mission and our pursuit of maturity, unity, and joy in Christ together. But taking a page out of Sun Tzu's book, if we know the enemy of our souls and are wise to his schemes, and we know ourselves - that we are safe and secure with the victorious Christ, we need not fear the result of a lifelong - history spanning, bigger than us, war of the seen and unseen worlds - battle of spiritual war. Revelation 12:1-17 is given to us so that we would more clearly understand the story of spiritual war - who our enemy is - and the strategies of spiritual war - what he does to oppose us - so that we'd more urgently, intentionally, and expectantly respond by taking refuge in Christ, placing his armor over the weak spots where we're most vulnerable, and marching on in the confidence of his victory.

Don’t Miss out on Small Groups

EVERY 1ST & 3RD FRIDAY OF THE MONTH AT 7PM

This Friday, 3/1, three different groups will meet throughout our city to share in the joy of Jesus, care for one another, and apply the gospel to each other’s lives. Outside of Sunday mornings, small groups are the most important moments in the life of our church. Make it a priority to attend one this Friday, for the first time or the 50th time. You’ll be glad you did!
