Easter Sunday Is Here

WE HAVE A LIVING HOPE

Join us on Easter Sunday to celebrate and worship the Savior whom the grave could not hold.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO A BILINGUAL CELEBRATION OF THE RISEN JESUS

Use our digital flyer, which can be found here, to invite your English and Spanish (or any language, for that matter) speaking friends and family to join us at the Ebell Club at 10:00 am Sunday, April 17.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We’re excited to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ with you. Here’s how you can prepare to make the most of it:

  1. As we do every Easter Sunday, Pastor Kyle will be preaching a bilingual homily. Come ready to hear God’s word proclaimed in English and in Spanish.

  2. We’ll also have a photo booth before and after service, beginning at 9:30 am. Come dressed to impress.

  3. While we are canceling our regular Children’s Ministry program, there will be special activities for the kids that they won’t want to miss! Kids, come ready for a special treat!

Small Groups Meet This Friday

EVERY 1ST AND 3RD FRIDAY

We have the privilege of gathering together as small groups on this Good Friday to share in and celebrate God’s goodness to us.

Our small groups are a context where biblical discipleship happens within the church. In other words, they’re small expressions of the local church where Gospel ministry takes place. Each group meets in a home, splitting their time between singing, praying, and discussion. Some groups include young children in their meetings. All groups welcome guests. Outside of Sunday mornings, these are the most important moments in the life of our local church. Carve this time out in your calendar every other week to be refreshed in the Gospel and to serve your friends by helping to point their lives to Christ.

An Outward Sign of an Inward Work

Baptism is a celebration. Friends and family and church family gather. It’s a celebration because God the Father, through the sacrifice of His Son, by the power of His Holy Spirit is saving men and women from sin. The lost are being found. Baptism is the evidence that the resurrection power of God is real and active in the lives of those He has saved.

This last Sunday, we had the joy of witnessing the baptism of Bella Muniz. Check out the pictures and relive the celebration of new life in Christ.

The Danger of Godless Guidance

WHEN WE SEEK THE RESULTS OF GOD’S FAVOR WITHOUT SEEKING GOD HIMSELF

In 1 Samuel 28, Saul consults a medium - an ancient magician - to communicate the a deceased Samuel and seek guidance for the battle ahead with the Philistines. The result? Through Samuel, God confirms His judgment of Saul. While you and I might not be seeking out necromancy and divination for guidance in our lives, we yet have the tendency to seek out “magical solutions” to our problems by, like Saul, seeking the results of God’s favor apart from seeking God Himself. Listen to last Sunday’s sermon to learn more.

Men's Meeting Rescheduled for Tonight

AT THE SCHLIEDER HOME AT 7PM

Occasionally, our monthly Men’s Meeting lands on the same week as our small groups. April is that kind of month, so instead of cancelling Men’s Meeting we are rescheduling it. Men’s Meeting will be tonight at 7pm at the Schlieder Home. All men, ages 15 and up, are invited to join us as we gather together for fellowship, prayer, and discussion centered on God’s word.

French Park Outreach This Saturday

MEET AT THE EBELL PARKING LOT AT 10 AM

We exist to spread the joy of Jesus to our Santa Ana neighbors. This is a chance for you to walk directly in that mission.

We will walk the neighborhood of French Park, praying for and with our neighbors, asking if our neighbors have any home-repair or other needs, and inviting them to Easter Sunday Service, all with the expectation that we would behold God's mercy toward our city. Kids are welcome. This is a chance for us to “go into our city” so that we might have the opportunity to “speak to our city”.

If the thought of inviting strangers to church is scary or uncomfortable, you can even just drop church invitations on doorsteps to start. But the important thing is that you start. So come and join us.

  • Date: 4/9/22

  • Time: 10am-12pm

  • Location: Park in the Ebell Parking Lot

Contact Pastor Jeff with any questions or to let us know you’ll be joining in on Saturday morning.

Baptisms This Sunday

AN OUTWARD SIGN OF AN INWARD WORK

Baptism is one of the sweetest moments in the life of the church. It’s a visible portrayal of the effects of the Gospel in a person. Baptism does not save a person or contribute to their salvation. Rather, it’s an outward display of an inward work that has already taken place. It’s also an act of obedience, something that every believer is commanded to do.

BAPTISM IMMEDIATELY AFTER SERVICE THIS SUNDAY AT THE HOULTON HOME

Join us at the Houlton home immediately after church this Sunday (4/10) to celebrate the baptism of new believers. If you’re interested in being baptized or just have questions about baptism, please contact one of our pastors.
