Our Communion Service is Weeks Away

MARCH 10TH AT 5PM

Daylight Savings Sunday is coming and that means our annual all-church Communion Dinner is right around the corner. On 3/10, our Sunday morning service will be replaced with a special evening service beginning at 5:00pm. This is a dinner that represents the life we share. We will eat and drink together and nourish our bodies just as the Lord’s Supper nourishes our souls. We’ll feast to the glory of the Savior who gave his own body and blood in order to give us a seat his table. You can look at last year’s photos here.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PREPARE

Not only will we share in the eating of a meal. We’ll share in the preparation of the meal. This is an event that requires all hands on deck. Whether you’re a household of 1, 2, 3, 4 or more - sign up to contribute to this celebration of the grace of God in Christ.

Spreading Christmas Cheer

BY SINGING LOUD FOR ALL TO HEAR

This past Sunday evening, we hosted our first ever Carols in the Park, and what a joy it was! Church members and neighbors gathered together in French Park for a night of singing well-loved songs, enjoying warm drinks and sweet treats, and celebrating the holiday season. We had fun, made new friends, deepened existing relationships, welcomed our neighbors to join us at church on Christmas Eve, and worshiped Jesus Christ - the One who was born to bring us into his joy forevermore!

Thank you to all who served us by singing in the choir, bringing cookies and drinks, and setting up the event! Relive the celebration by scrolling through some photos from the night.

Carols in the Park is This Sunday

HELP US SPREAD CHRISTMAS CHEER

It’s the best time of year! What better way to celebrate the birth of Christ than by singing loud for all to hear.

This Sunday, 12/17, from 7pm-8pm, we’re making plans to gather together in French Park to sing carols, spread Christmas cheer, and invite our neighbors to share in the celebration with us. We’ll serve up some hot chocolate, enjoy sweet treats, and extend an invitation for our neighbors to join us at church on Christmas Eve.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  1. Invite our French Park neighbors, your family and friends to a night of Carols in the Park, and come sing with us! You can share the digital invite linked here.

  2. Along with extending an invitation, consider ways you’d like to get involved, either with setup, being part of the choir, or bring a couple dozen cookies. Sign up below to get involved

Members Meeting This Sunday

PLEASE MAKE THIS MEETING A PRIORITY

Every six months, we hold a brief members meeting after service. This meeting will last about 45 minutes, since we have some big announcements. The meeting is mandatory for all members, but guests are welcome as well. This meeting is a time to communicate what we wouldn’t communicate on a typical Sunday morning. We’ll look back on what God has graciously done in the last 6 months in our church and look forward to where we believe God is taking us as a church. Come this Sunday eager to hear what God is up to in our church.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SERVICE. MEMBERS REQUIRED, GUEST WELCOMED

In December We Let the Schedule Lie Fallow

WEEKLY MEETINGS ARE CANCELLED FOR DECEMBER

In the world of agriculture, soil must remain “fallow” once every few years to maintain its fertility for years to come. To lie fallow is to lie unplowed and unplanted for a time in order for nutrients to be restored. In the month of December, we are letting our church calendar lie fallow. Why? Not so that you can pull away from the life of the church, but instead to press into natural and more intimate opportunities to relate to your church family and neighbors. The holiday season is notoriously one of the busiest times of the year. We want to help you to take advantage of the few free moments you have to spend unhurried, unscheduled time with one another and with family for the grand purpose of allowing your heart to be re-fertilized by the work of Christ, fellowship with the saints, and cultivating friendships with unbelieving neighbors.

WHAT’S NOT CANCELLED?

  • REGULAR SUNDAY SERVICES

  • CHRISTMAS EVE MORNING SERVICE (Ebell Club at 10:00 AM)

  • Run Club

If you ever have any questions about church events, you can look to our church calendar, which is always updated to reflect changes to meetings or events.

Baptisms This Sunday

AN OUTWARD SIGN OF AN INWARD WORK

Baptism is one of the sweetest moments in the life of the church. It’s a visible portrayal of the effects of the gospel in a person. A means of grace given to us in order to participate in God’s promise of new life in Christ. Professing our faith in Jesus, making our public entrance into his people, and representing our union with him in his death and resurrection - dying to sin and being raised to walk in newness of life. It’s also an act of obedience, something that every believer is commanded to do.

BAPTISM IMMEDIATELY AFTER SERVICE THIS SUNDAY AT THE CUNNINGHAM HOME

Join us at the Cunningham home immediately after church this Sunday (12/3) to celebrate the baptism of new believers and have a hotdog lunch. If you’re interested in being baptized or have questions about baptism, please contact one of our pastors.

Why Did Jesus Have to Die?

COME DISCUSS WITH US AT BRIDGE

Our final Bridge Course session is Monday, November 20th at 7pm. We are ending our series with a very important question: Why did Jesus have to die? What did his death accomplish? Could God have saved us any other way? We’ll explore all this and more over the course of a meal, a talk, and a conversation where every perspective is encouraged. Even if you’ve missed the previous sessions, ALL are welcome to join in as we wrestle through these big questions of life. Sign up below or invite a friend and we’ll see you on 11/20 at Hopper & Burr (202 W 4th St, Santa Ana, CA 92701).
