Pray for the 2025 Pastor's Conference

OUR PASTORAL TEAM WILL BE AWAY FOR THE WEEK

Every year our family of churches enjoys a family reunion. A time when pastors, wives, and members of Sovereign Grace Churches come together for a week of worship, fellowship, and encouragement in our shared mission. This year, there are over 825 registrants from 23 different nations attending our annual gathering in Orlando, Florida from 11/18-20. The theme is Christ our Glory, and we trust it’ll be a sweet time away!

As a pastoral team we say “thank you” for sending us! This conference is one of the highlights of our year. We’re grateful for this time away which always makes us more eager to come back and serve the church. In addition to sending us, we also ask that you please pray for us while we’re here. Throughout the week, you can pray that:

  • The Lord would refresh our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Pray that we’d encounter our glorious Savior through the preaching of his word and the singing of his praise in a way that would change us. Fanning the flames of our affections for him. Drawing us deeper into his joy. Impressing upon our souls the amazing privilege we have of serving his people.

  • The Lord would use this time to equip us to serve our church well. We’re being sent by the members of our church for the members of our church. Pray that we’d come back better leaders than when we left.

  • The Lord would build existing and establish new relationships among pastors and members of Sovereign Grace Churches across the globe.

  • The Lord would give us moments of clarity about our local mission. Pray for the Lord to fill us with His Spirit to give us a greater longing to spread the joy of Jesus to our Santa Ana neighbors.

Would the Lord fill our hearts with gratitude for all he’s done & faith for all he’s doing!

Neighborhood Outreach, 11/22

MEET IN THE EBELL PARKING LOT AT 9:45AM

This Saturday is our final neighborhood outreach of the year! A team from CGSA will go into French Park and DTSA to strike up spiritual conversations with our neighbors. We’ll take the initiative to get to know them, ask how we can pray for them, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Love to do this sort of thing? Come on down! Scared to do this kind of thing? Then come on down as well! We’re expecting that the Lord will use us to extend his welcome to our neighbors as he takes our very ordinary efforts and blesses them in extraordinary ways. You’re invited to grow more confident in striking up spiritual conversations, learn from your brothers and sisters as you watch them reaching out, and see God “paint our city blue,” one blade of grass at a time.

We’ll meet at the Ebell parking lot at 9:45am to pray before we go out. We’ll wrap up around noon at Hidden House for a quick debrief.

Want to see what it’s like? Check out this video from our September outreach. Reach out to Robert Lopez to RSVP or ask any questions.

Who is the God of the Gospel?

THE GOD WHO WILL ALWAYS BE EXACTLY WHO HE IS

Exodus is the story of God's salvation. A story in which God is not only the Author but also the Main Character. The True Hero who's at work in and through the human hero named Moses. In Ex 3, the heroes of the story share their first scene together. God appears to the one who was drawn out of water and calls him to draw Israel out of Egypt. In response, Moses says, "Who am I to do a thing like this?" To which God replies, "It doesn't matter who you are, all that matters is who I am." Which leads Moses to ask, “Well then, who are you?” He asks the most important question anyone could ever ask - “Who is God?” - and receives a direct and divine answer! In the story of the burning bush, we step onto holy ground as God steps into the story and reveals himself to us.

Women's Friendsgiving is Tomorrow

JOIN US on 11/12 AT 6:30PM

The ladies of CGSA are gathering for their annual Friendsgiving tomorrow, November 12 at the Schlieder home! Get ready to come together for food and fellowship in the spirit of thanksgiving to the Lord who’s blessed us so richly in Christ. It is potluck-style with traditional Thanksgiving food, so please plan to bring a dish, snack, or dessert to share. You’re welcome to bring along any friends or guests to join us as we spend the evening celebrating God’s goodness through our relationships and giving thanks to his name.

“Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things” - Ps 107:8-9

LADIES, SEE YOU AT THE SCHLIEDER HOME

God Stepped into Israel’s Story

WILL HE STEP INTO OURS?

Every story has a hero, and every hero has an origin story. Exodus 2 is the origin story of Moses, the protagonist of Exodus. But while Moses is a hero who brings us into the unfolding events of the book and moves the plot along, he’s not the capital “H” Hero of Exodus. His story is significant, but it’s not the whole story. Because his story teaches us that in Exodus, the true Hero is God. Everything that Moses did to free his people from captivity happened because God himself was stepping into the story. Hearing his people’s cries, remembering his promises, seeing their suffering, knowing their groaning under the awful weight of slavery, and then doing something about it. God stepped into Israel’s story back then, but do we believe he’ll step into our stories today? If you’re doubting whether he hears your cries, wonder if he cares about what you’re going through, or he seems distant to you, then look to the story of Moses and be encouraged. Because this hero ultimately points us forward to the Hero named Jesus. The Savior through whom God has stepped into our stories to change them forever.
