2019 DTSA 5K Recap

Be On The Lookout For Natural Opportunities Like These To Know and Be Known By Our Neighbors

This past Saturday some of our members got up bright & early to run (or walk) the annual DTSA 5k. It was a great morning and a wonderful opportunity to get to know our neighbors as we all cheered each other on.

Nineveh, Kanye West and Your Neighbor

Who Would You Least Expect God To Save?

In the third message in our series in Jonah, Jeff Schlieder guided us through the third chapter, where the city of Nineveh unexpectedly repents and turns toward the God of Israel. Like Jonah, we expect those whose lives oppose God to either overcome us and lead us away from God or we often hope, like Jonah, that they would somehow be destroyed or “driven out”. But when the grace of God through Christ is entered into the equation, a third and better way is introduced. Jesus drew the world to Himself without being overcome by the world, thus making the third option of grace possible. We should have a confident hope in God to save even our most unlikely neighbors.

Listen to the message here.

We Have The Privilege Of Discipling The Next Generation

“We will not hide them from [our] children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD” -Psalm 78:4

At the beginning of the month we made a change in our children’s ministry- we added a class for Elementary school aged kids. We also launched a new curriculum to teach these kids Gospel truths. We are excited to both meet the needs of our congregation and see how the Lord use this new class and curriculum.

Pray For The Volunteers, The Children and Their Parents

Please join us in praying for our volunteers, parents, and children as we adjust to this new set up. Also, whether you are yourself married or not or have kids or not, we’d love for you to take part in the discipling of the next generation as well. Children’s ministry requires many volunteers. So, if you’re not currently serving in our children’s ministry and have any inclination whatsoever to do so, send us an email. We’d love to talk to you.

Be on the Lookout for our New Thursday Newsletter

Our Newsletter Is How We Do “Announcements”

One of the joys of growing as a church is there is much to share with you! We want to be able to provide you with all the information you need, without overwhelming you with too many headlines in our Tuesday newsletter. In light of this, our newsletter will now be sent out in two different emails - one on Tuesday afternoon and one on Thursday afternoon - every week. Lord willing, this smaller amount of information per newsletter post will help you to digest what’s going on in the life of the church.

We Want To Help You Stay On Track

There is nothing to do on your part- just read these emails and praise God for all he is doing in our church & city!
