Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward reality for those who have believed. It’s a public declaration that a person has been united to Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. Further, it’s a visual picture of that union - as immersion in the water reflects burial of the old man and the act of being raised up from the water reflects the reality that the one being baptized has been raised with Christ through His resurrection life. Baptism is one of the most significant moments in the life of a Christian and one of the greatest celebrations of any local church. This Sunday, we get to celebrate three people publicly professing union with Christ by God’s grace through faith.
